Either Gov. Paul LePage is inept at interpreting information or he’s a liar and he thinks that Mainers are gullible. How else to explain his recent comments regarding Forbes’ ranking of Maine as the worst place in the nation to do business?

LePage “quotes” Forbes when no such quotes exist.

He said Forbes told Maine to address energy problems when Forbes said absolutely no such thing. He said Forbes told Maine that we had “ignored structural problems” (which LePage said are welfare and energy problems) when, again, Forbes said no such thing.

LePage’s comments are then explained by his spokeswoman, “it’s just the way he speaks.”

If “the way the speaks” is made up of falsehoods or completely off-base interpretation, then we have elected a liar or a man deficient in the skills needed to govern.

And does he really believe that anyone in Maine believes that when he says “we’re starting with welfare” he is referring to the welfare of Mainers as a whole?

Please. We may have been foolish enough to elect him in the first place but I don’t believe we’re foolish enough to believe what he’s feeding us now.
