Candlelight service

NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester Bible Church will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24. All are welcome.

Turner Center service

TURNER — Everyone is invited to the Turner Center Church for the candlelight service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, with Pastor Dan Johnston. Dr. Catlett, at the piano, will accompany the choir and the general public in singing Christmas carols.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 19 were as follows:

N/S first: Luke Merry and Mike True, third overall; second: Dick Allen and Pete Cummings, fifth overall, second OA in B; third, second in B, first in C: Ellie and Lindy Wigton, third overall in B, second overall in C.

E/W first: Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos, first overall; second: Jeanine Kivus and David Lock, second overall; third, first in B and C: Cynthia Bonsey and Sue Kaluzynski, fourth overall, first overall in B and C; second in B: Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin.

YMCA cross country

AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA will offer another season of cross country skiing. There will be an informational meeting about the program from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at the Y.

The program is part of the Bill Koch League, which is an organization that teaches the art of cross country skiing for children 3 years of age through the eighth grade. The program is being instructed by Dan Campbell, who is the Edward Little High School varsity cross country ski coach, as well as volunteers.

The program runs on Sundays, Jan. 8 to March 6, from 1 to 2 p.m. on Perkins Ridge Road, just past Wallingford’s Fruit Stand. Cost for the program is $35 for Y members and $55 for nonmembers.
