DEAR SUN SPOTS: When all else fails, turn to Sun Spots. Thank you for what you do.

We are looking for someone who would be interested in video recording our fishing derby on Feb. 4. Our thought was to recruit a student who is interested in this field.

Our intention is to use this video for marketing purposes to raise money for Healthy Smiles for ME, a nonprofit organization that helps Maine children receive dental care.

We looked into hiring a professional but, unfortunately, are unable to afford the cost. This would be a great community service project for a high school or even college student.

Last year we submitted a request to your readers for gently used ice fishing equipment, and the response was incredible. Thank you! Please call or email me. — Cindy, 754-1176, healthysmiles4me@gmail.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the Dec. 12 request from a senior looking for someone to do snowblowing with her snowblower, Dean Hinkley (375-6163) is the person to call. He is hardworking, helpful and handy, and also willing to do plowing, mowing, yardwork and minor repairs. He is honest and most helpful. — E.W., Litchfield

ANSWER: The Sun Journal has had recipes for tourtiere in the newspaper in the past and there are many recipes available online for both, but Sun Spots is sure that her readers will want to offer their favorites.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know of anyone who would like to receive magazines every month? I have subscriptions to several magazines ranging from fashion to homemaking and People that I would like to donate each month.

In our previous town the library took them and sold them for 25 cents each to raise money for library projects. Any assistance you can provide would be most welcome. — Laurie McGilvery, ljmcg32@roadrunner.com
