AUBURN — Irene C. Henry, 72, a resident of Jay, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 31, surrounded by her loving family at Hospice House of Androscoggin.
She was born May 31, 1939, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Rolando and Jeanne (Mercier) Chretien. She was a 1957 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. Irene worked as a secretary for several of the doctors in the area while raising her three children.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and had a special love for animals.
She is survived by her sons, James Henry and his wife, Crystal, of Livermore and Barry Henry and his wife, Lisa, of Wilton; her daughter, Michelle Lee and her husband, Gary, of Livermore; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Simonne Henry and her husband, Phil, of Candia, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Brandy Henry; and her brother, Reginald Chretien.
