AUBURN — Claude J. Gobeil, 69, of Estero, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 31, with immediate family members by his side.
Formerly of Auburn, he had been a resident of Estero for the past 12 years.
Claude was born Aug. 6, 1942 in Saint-Samuel Station, Quebec, Canada, a son of the late Josaphat and Valeda (Fortier) Gobeil. He had 10 siblings.
Prior to owning the 20M Social Club in Lewiston for 20 years, he was a drywall finisher and lumberjack. Claude enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th degree.
Claude is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Huguette I. Gobeil; loving children, Sonia and her husband, Ron Bilodeau, of Arundel and Rene Gobeil of Canaan, Vt.; cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Chandler, Colby, Tierra and Shane; and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kayleigh and Nathaniel.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Maurice Gobeil.
