AUBURN — Adam Poulin scored a pair of goals as Leavitt landed on winless Windham/Sacopee Valley (0-7) with a 10-0 victory in a hockey game Wednesday night.

By the end of the second period, the Hornets (4-2) held a 5-0 lead before erupting with another five goals in the final period.

Tyler Hutchinson, Jacob Gladu, Ian Durgin, Kyle Knight, Connor Violette, Elijah Lamotche and Clay Rowland all scored goals for Leavitt.

The Hornets bombarded the Windham/Sacopee Valley net with 46 shots.

Cony 4, Gray-NG/Poland 0

GRAY — Zach Gagne netted a pair of goals Wednesday as Cony skated to a 4-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester/Poland in a boys’ hockey tilt.

Gagne gave the Rams (4-2) a 1-0 lead in the second period with an assist from Galen Casey. Keifer Cantera made it 2-0 just 33 seconds later, while Casey and Gagne completed the scoring with goals in the third frame.

Matt Swan made 20 saves for Cony to preserve the shutout, while Calvin Sheley turned aside 25 shots between the pipes for Gray-New Gloucester.

Girls’ hockey

Tilton 3, Hebron 1

HEBRON — Maddie Nichols netted goals in both the first and second periods as Tilton skated to a 3-1 win over Hebron in girls’ hockey action Wednesday.

Katie Couture gave Hebron a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the contest. Titlon answered when Nichols tallied her first at the 12:07 mark tying the contest.

Nichols made it 2-1 with what turned out to be the game-winning goal midway through the second stanza. Nora Robinson added an insurance goal for Tilton in the third period with an assist from Victoria Sohn.

Jen McDowell made 20 saves for Tilton, while Mariah Mosher turned aside 24 shots between the pipes for Hebron.

Leavitt/EL 6, Winslow 2

AUBURN — Taylor Landry registered a hat trick in the third period Wednesday as Leavitt/Edward Little skated to a 6-2 victory over Winslow in girls’ hockey action.

Shelby Russell, Emma Martineau and Sabrina Lapointe also tallied for the Red Hornets (5-3) to complete the scoring.

Jen Poulin and Sara Fowler were credited with goals for Winslow.

Girls’ basketball

Poland 51, Gray-New Gloucester 48

POLAND — Laura Lavoie hit a short jump shot late in overtime to lift Poland to a narrow 51-48 upset victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

Lindsey Theriault hit two key free throws at the end of regulation to send the contest into extra minutes. Michaella Arsenault led the Knights (1-6) with 15 points, while Emily Bolduc tallied 14 and Brittina Maheux added 10 in a well-balanced attack.

Maria Valente led the Patriots (3-3) with 17 points, while Haylee Cote chipped in with 10.
