MEXICO — Cecile M. Cyr, 83, of River Road, Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 4, with her loving family at her side.
She was born Dec. 1, 1928, in St. Gedeon, Quebec, Canada, a daughter of Honore and Lea (Ouirion) Veilleux.
She married Ernest Lapointe on Aug. 19, 1950, he passed away in 1969. Cecile then married Adolph Cyr on May 1, 1971, and he passed away in 2003.
Cecile was a homemaker who loved camping at the snowshoe club since 1971. She was vice president for the Fraternal Order of the Snowshoe Union from 1979 to 1980 and vice president of the LeParesseux since 1993. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior.
Surviving are her children, Jean Marie Bolduc of Montreal, Germain Lapointe and wife, Laurie, of Mexico, Nicole Richard and husband, David, of Mexico, Yvan Lapointe and wife, Joanne, of Peru, Roger Lapointe and wife, Jocelyn, of Mexico and Carol Smith and husband, Timothy, of Mexico; four stepchildren, Gladys Burke of Florida, Jeannine Murray and husband, Kenneth, of Worthley Pond, Larry Cyr and wife, Colleen, of Florida, and Michael Cyr and wife, Lyn, of Florida; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne d’Arc Labrecque of St. Roberts, Canada.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ernest Lapointe; her husband, Adolph Cyr; a sister, Theresa Paquet; two brothers, Raphel Veilleux and Jacques Veilleux; and an infant son, Gilles.
