PORTLAND — Douglas C. Richardson, 43, of Norway, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Maine Medical Center, after complications from surgeries.
He was born May 18, 1968, at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va. He was the son of Craig Richardson of Norway and Carol Richardson of Minot.
He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1986. He had been employed since 2004 at Gendron and Gendron of Lewiston as a truck driver/foreman. “Big Dougie, Big Doug, Big D”enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, going to camp, riding the back roads, playing cribbage and Texas hold ’em, and hanging out with friends for an occasional drink, breakfast and dinner at his sister’s restaurant, Simply Eats. He was especially proud of his new Chevy truck.
He is survived by his father, Craig, of Norway; mother, Carol, of Minot; two sisters, Pamela Chaplin and his two nephews, Riley and Bryce, of South Paris, and Jessica Richardson and her companion, Kenny Card, of South Paris; and countless friends. He will be missed by so many.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Maxine Bean; and paternal grandparents, Donald and Margerite Richardson; and an uncle, Steve Richardson.
