NORWAY — James E. Verrill, 77, of Norway, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, at Stephens Memorial Hospital, with his loving wife at his side.

He was born at Central Maine General Hospital in Lewiston, Sept. 11, 1934, the son of Virgil C. and Catherine Emery Verrill. He graduated from Buckfield High School, Class of 1953. On Sept. 1, 1956, he married Jane Kilgore of Norway.

Mr. Verrill proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1957 to 1963. He worked at A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. for 19 1/2 years; after the closing of A.C. Lawrence, he went to work at Cornwall Industries, until his retirement.

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane; three daughters, Karen and her husband, Brad Adams, of Waterford, Paula and her husband, Wayne Pike, of Waterford and Lynda and her husband, Robert Bedard, of Poland; son, Daniel of Norway; grandchildren, Derek Pike of Sterling, Va., Devin Pike of Waterford and Erin Adams; great-granddaughter, Sarah of Waterford; several nieces and nephews; a brother, Charles Verrill and wife, Patricia, of Greenwood; a sister, Laura Keene and her husband, Don, of Buckfield; and a brother-in-law, Allen Snow of South Paris.

He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Beatrice.
