LEWISTON — Christopher Schario, executive/artistic director of The Public Theatre, will be the presenter at the USM Lewiston-Auburn Senior College Food for Thought 11:30 a.m. luncheon Friday, Jan. 13. He will speak about the birth and development of The Public Theatre and the impact that a thriving cultural life has on the growth of a community and on the local economy.
Schario received a BFA in acting from Ohio University and an MFA at Carnegie-Mellon University where he also taught. He has directed plays at Public Theatre, as well as in New York City and many regional theaters. He has acted off-Broadway, on national tours and other venues. Schario’s adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” was developed and successfully produced at theaters throughout the world.
Senior College, now in its 13th year, will hold the monthly 11:30 luncheon program in Room 170 at USM LAC this month. The cost, which includes lunch, is $7 with advance reservation or $8 at the door. Reservations must be made by noon on Jan. 12 by calling 753-6510. Any late callers will be considered “at the door.”
