RUMFORD — Elliot “Bud” and Barbara Burns of Rumford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 25 while sailing on board Royal Caribbean’s “Allure of the Seas” in the Western Caribbean.

They were joined by their son, Art Burns and his wife, Lisa, and children, Collin and Abby, as well as their daughter, Gayle Maddox and her husband, Eric, and daughter, Sarah. Mrs. Burns’ brother, Rob Cameron, along with his wife, Louanne, and their children, Bob Cameron, Susan Johnson, Sean and Linda Cameron and Kristin and Tim Matteson, and grandchildren, Matt and Jake Johnson, Quinton, Aaron and Ian Cameron also joined them on this very special cruise. Family members traveled from Maine, New Hampshire and Tennessee to celebrate this joyous occasion together.

Mr. Burns and the former Barbara Cameron were married Nov. 25, 1961, at the Franklin Street United Methodist Church in Rumford. Mr. Burns is the son of the late Erlon and Mary Burns and grew up in Rumford Point. Mrs. Burns is the daughter of the late Marshall and Mabel Cameron and grew up in South Rumford. He is retired from Boise Cascade and she is retired from Key Bank.
