There were two winners on Jan. 15. The Patriots played extremely well, both offensively and defensively. I hope they keep it up and win the Super Bowl.

The other winner was Tim Tebow.

Tebow is not afraid to speak out for Christianity and his belief in Jesus Christ, his savior. He is a winner in my book and I am sure many others feel that way, too. However, there are many putting him down for his beliefs.

This country is turning more to secularism and turning away from God and the Founding Fathers’ Judeo-Christian foundation. I could not believe the negative comments I saw online against Tebow’s speaking out.

Also, the Rev. Doug Taylor’s column on Jan. 15 seems right on. Preachers need to get out from behind their pulpits, with their congregations following them, and be more involved in communities, singing that good old hymn, “Onward Christian Soldiers.”

Turn away from the negatives and move toward the positives. Then we all can become winners.
