DOVER, N.H. — Dan Nadeau and Cody Rodrigue netted a goal each in the late going to lift St. Dom’s to a 2-0 victory over York in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday.
The Saints (6-2) were solid on defense and outshot the Wildcats 12-5 in the third period where they were able to connect on a pair of goals.
Goalie Jared Posternak made 25 saves for York, while Grant Carrier turned away all 22 shots to earn a shutout victory for St. Dom’s.
Hebron 6, Tilton 4
HEBRON — Guillaume Breton scored a pair of goals to lead Hebron to a 6-4 victory over Tilton in boys’ hockey.
Kale Johnstone nailed the only tally in the third period to provide the Lumberjacks with a two-point advantage which the defense held to the final buzzer.
Hebron led 2-1 after one, but traded goals all throught the second period before Johnstone’s tally.
Goalie Alex Bitsakis made 34 saves to earn the win in net for Hebron.
Boys’ basketball
Freeport 63, Gray-NG 58
NEW GLOUCESTER — Mitch Loeman shoveled in 26 points as Freeport plowed Gray-New Gloucester under with a 63-58 victory in WMC boys’ basketball action Saturday.
The Falcons led 36-28 at the half. Josh Weirich contributed 15 points for Freeport.
The Patriots made up some ground in the fourth quarter, posting 20 points to the Falcons 10 points.
Sophomore guard Will Schafer produced 20 points, while Sean Sedjro and Austin Keenan added 15 and 14 points, respectively, in the losing effort.
Madison 61, Telstar 58
MADISON — Austin Kane scored 22 points to help Madison hold on for a 61-58 victory over Telstar.
The game was tied 30-30 at halftime, but a spurt by Madison (6-6) gave the Bulldogs a 49-42 advantage entering the final quarter. The Rebels fought back to tie the game, but Madison hung on.
Telstar (6-6) stayed close by shooting 20 for 22 at the foul line.
M.J. Flanders chipped in for Madison with 12 points and Steven Lawrence added 10.
Danny Whitney led the Rebels with 20 points. Nick Mills added 17 points and Dominic Haines scored 13.
