FARMINGTON — Bernadette “Bunny” M. Marchetti, 86, a resident of Western Avenue, Jay, died Sunday, Jan. 22, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born July 2, 1925, in Rumford, the daughter of Vincent and Olive Arsenault Gallant. She graduated from St. John’s Catholic School and from Stephens High School in 1944. On June 18, 1949, in Rumford, she married Joseph “Pip” Marchetti at St. John’s Church; he passed away Jan. 5, 1986.

During the war, she worked at Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford, sorting paper and later, after her marriage, she worked part time at Bill and Sim’s Market in Chisholm and part time in the St. Rose Catholic School library in Chisholm.

She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Wednesday morning Housewives Bowling League. She loved bowling, and she looked forward to Wednesdays when she could just walk up the hill to go to the bowling alley. She loved doing word-search puzzles, watching TV and going for Sunday afternoon drives.

Bunny is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Marchetti and companion, Dale Willits, of Jay; her son, Vincent L. Marchetti and his wife, Gail, of Jay; her grandchildren, Ryan J. Marchetti and his wife, Angela, of Lunenburg, Vt., Jason T. Marchetti and fiancee, Crystal, of Jay, and Anthony J. Marchetti and his wife, Brandy, of Auburn; her great-grandsons, Lucas A. Marchetti of Auburn and Samuel C. Marchetti of Lunenburg, Vt.; her sisters-in-law, Marie Marchetti, Anita Marchetti and Carole Holt, all of Jay; and brother-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Fergola of Mexico.

She was predeceased by her parents; an infant daughter, Sally Ann Marchetti; an infant son, Joseph Michael Marchetti; her brothers and their wives, Joseph A. and Marjorie Gallant, Robert E. and Rina Gallant, Vincent and Edna Gallant and brother, Phillipe Gallant; her sisters, Isabelle Fergola and Pauline Allen and her husband, Leonard; brothers-in-law, Ronald Marchetti and wife, Jo, Louis, John, and Ralph Marchetti, Danny Holt; sisters-in-law, Sandrina Roy and husband, Elmo, and Laura Moreau and husband, Arthur.
