CANTON — Mrs. Fernande M. Dean, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 22, at her residence in Canton surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Roxbury on Feb. 5, 1932, she was a daughter of Joseph and Marie Rose (Gagnon) Thibodeau. She attended local schools.
She enjoyed the company of her cat, Smokey, and was a big fan of “The Young and the Restless.” She enjoyed bingo and crocheting when she was able and she also loved to just sit and watch the birds at her feeders. She is loved and will be missed by so many. She was the last of 11 children.
She was married in Rumford on Dec. 27, 1952, to Joseph A. Dean, who died in Rumford on April 11, 1994.
Survivors include two daughters, Marie Armstrong and her husband, Jim, of Canton and Peggy O’Donnell and her husband, Gregory, of Brunswick; three sons, Joseph of Dresden, Michael of New Hampshire and Phillip of Auburn; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a wonderful sister-in-law, Priscilla Blaisdell of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
