HALLOWELL — Sarah Pelletier of Lewiston beat her own recently set state record on Jan. 17 during the Tuesday Night Merchants’ League at Sparetime Recreation.
On Dec. 3, 2011, Pelletier bowled a 792 series during her doubles event at the 15th Annual IBC Open held at Sparetime Recreation in Hallowell.
Last week, Pelletier started her series with a 299 game, followed by games of 257 and 242 for a new record total of 798. Prior to breaking the record in December, the record had been held by Brenda Hoyt of Portland since 2003.
On Dec. 22, she also rolled a perfect 300 game while bowling for the Moore’s Pro Shop team during the Industrial Park League at Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston.
Pelletier is a graduate of Lewiston High School and a 2011 graduate of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. While at Lewiston, she led the Blue Devils bowling team to a state championship as well as winning the girls’ individual state title.
She was a four-year member of the Sacred Heart bowling team and garnered All-Northeast Conference second-team honors in her junior season. She was also a key member of the squad that captured the 2009-10 Northeast Conference championship, the program’s first NEC crown.
