AUBURN — Geraldine May LeClair, 63, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Hospice House, with her loving family by her side. She had made her home at the Grandview Apartments, Mexico.

She was born in Rumford, Jan. 28, 1948, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Vautour) LeBlanc Sr.

She graduated from Andover High School and was class valedictorian. She received her associates degree in Applied Secretarial Science from Mid State College in Auburn, Class of 1992, Cum Laude.

Geraldine worked in her early years in the local shoe shops, then as a secretary in several business offices in Florida.

She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church in Rumford. While living in Florida, she was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish and active in the Canticle Prayer Group and the church Women’s Club, and served as a lecture. She loved spending time with her family, her Dachshunds, gardening and had a real talent for sewing and home repairs.

She was married on March 17, 1995 to Lt. Col. Louis LeClair, U.S. Army Ret. He died Sept. 5, 2002.

Survivors include sisters, Doris Hodgkins of Frye, Hazel Hodgkins and husband, Robert, of Frye, Suzanne Doyen and husband, Leo, of Auburn, Shirley Arsenault and husband, John, of Rumford, Joanne Carver and husband, Harry, of Dixfield and Mary LeBlanc of Portland; brothers, Herman LeBlanc of Rumford and Daniel LeBlanc Jr. and wife, Florence, of Lisbon Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Laura Lyons, Yvonne Mangos and Gladys Grant; and brothers, Clarence, Raymond and Richard LeBlanc.
