LIVERMORE FALLS — On Jan. 23 the Jay Livermore Falls Seniors met at Murray Hall with Shirley Couture presiding. The meeting opened with a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members as well as for all men and women serving in the armed forces here and abroad.

The group was sorry to hear of the passing of two members, Marie Gagnon and Bernadette “Bunny” Marchetti, as well as a great-grandson of Lorette Chabot.

On the sick list were Athanase Couture and George Doiron.

The Valentine party was discussed and it was decided to have finger foods. The party will be held on Feb. 13 at noon.

Donna Cook volunteered to play the piano for birthdays and other special events.

The secretary’s report was read and accepted.

It was voted at this time to have the speaker system fixed.

The 50/50 was won by Diane Getz. Door prizes donated by members were won by Pat Couture, Georgia Hersey and Joyce Richard.

Following the meeting refreshments were served by Diane Getz, Marguerite Richardson and Edith LeBlanc, then all enjoyed playing cards and games after the refreshments.

The refreshment committee at the Jan. 30 meeting will be Gloria Bickford, Pat Couture and Donna Cook.
