NORWAY — The annual Norway Trackers Snowfest has been canceled due to dangerous ice conditions in Lake Pennesseewassee after the recent storm.

“We apologize to everyone who was planning to attend but had to do this to ensure everyone’s safety,” according to a message on their website. “We are having a meeting tomorrow night to discuss rescheduling, but that is unlikely.”

The club regularly drills holes in the ice on Lake Pennesseewassee before the annual Snowfest to test for safety. As of Tuesday, the festival was set to go ahead, but the rain Thursday night and Friday morning made conditions dangerous, the club said.

The two day festival was set to include drag racing on the lake and an antique snowmobile contest.
