BUCKFIELD — Evening Star 147 Masonic Lodge of Buckfield will hold a fellowship night at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10.

Any Masons are invited to attend and bring a friend that may be interested in joining. There will be a short program explaining the lodge and questions answered. Ladies are welcome to accompany their husbands.

Following the presentation, refreshments will be served. The lodge hall is at 3 High St. in downtown Buckfield.

Texas Hold ’em

MECHANIC FALLS — Mechanic Falls American Legion Post 150 will hold a Texas Hold ’em Tournament on Friday, Feb. 10. Start time is 6 p.m.

Buy-in is $35 plus $5.

The Legion will also host a Valentine’s dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 11. No cover charge.

Valentine’s party

PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host a Valentine’s Day party for children from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. Participants will decorate cookies, enjoy stories and make valentines and other festive crafts.

World Fair meeting

WATERFORD — The February meeting for Waterford World’s Fair will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Waterford Town Office.

President Dana Hemingway will report on the annual State of Maine Fair meeting, which several officer attended in Portland recently, and on the stipend income that will be received soon from the state for the year. AARP meeting

PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet on Monday, Feb. 13, at the First Congregational Church on E. Main Street, South Paris. A baked chicken dinner will be served at noon. The cost is $6.50 and reservations are required by calling Ruth at 744-9069 no later than Friday, Feb. 10. Attendees are reminded of the pledge to bring canned goods for the Food Pantry to each meeting.

The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m., followed by speaker, Robert Perry, a talented wood carver.

Valentine’s supper

SUMNER — The Congregational Church of East Sumner will host a Valentine’s supper on Monday, Feb. 13. Seatings, by reservation, will be at 5:30 and 7 p.m.

Diners will have a choice of baked ham or chicken, cream of broccoli and cheese or chicken noodle soups, salad and pies. Tables will be set for two or four, or more, with candles and flowers. Low lighting and soft music will create an intimate atmosphere as waiters seat and serve the diners. The cost is $12.50 per person. To make reservations, call Peggy at 388-2074.

Locke benefit

SOUTH PARIS — There will be a benefit supper for the family of Kyraa Locke from 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the American Legion Hall, Church Street.

The Locke family fell upon hard financial times before and after Kyraa’s death. While the family spent countless hours by Kyraa’s bedside in the hospital, their home was left unattended, resulting in broken pipes, a collapsed roof and mold damage. Funds are being raised to get their home back in order.

There is a request of a $5 donation at the door. All proceeds will go to the Kyraa Locke Fund at Northeast Bank. Special guests include Jordan Kaulback, Black Cat Road, Rusty Wiltjer, Raged Jack, New Horizons and more. There will also be a Chinese auction; tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Potluck supper

WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House will hold a community potluck supper at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. All are welcome.

The Community House is in Waterford Flat on Plummer Hill Road behind the village green next door to the church. Community suppers are held on the third Thursday of each month through May. The hosts for this supper are Joann Fillebrown and Lois Grigg.
