NEW GLOUCESTER — A local business owner is looking to the public for help finding a dump truck stolen sometime in the last week from his excavating company.
Bill Kiley, owner of Kiley Excavating, reported Tuesday to the Maine State Police that someone stole a 1972 Chevrolet dump truck from a gravel pit on his property near Sabbathday Lake. Kiley said the property is just off Outlet Road.
Kiley said it had been about a week since he’d been out to the gravel pit. He often left the gated area unlocked so snowmobile riders could cross the property, but has since locked the gate and cleared a path around the property.
Anyone with information about the theft of the dump truck, which has a blue cab with a black body, is asked to contact state police at 657-3030, or Kiley Excavating at 926-4232.
