WILTON — Norma S. “Bunnie” Clemens, 71, of Wilton, died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

She was born in Rumford, a daughter of Norman and Helen (Harris) Sanborn and was a lifelong resident of Franklin County.

Bunny attended Weld schools and then proudly received her GED in 1989 with her youngest daughters’ graduating class. She had four children in her first marriage to Elijah White Jr. of Windham and one to Vernal “Spike” Clemens.

A long-time employee of G.H. Bass and Co., of Wilton, in her free time, Bunnie mostly enjoyed hunting, fishing, New England sports teams, handcrafts, Farmington fair horse racing with Robert, playing the lottery and time spent with her cherished extended families. She was a formidable cribbage opponent with legendary wit.

She is survived by three daughters, Jo L. Spielvogel and her husband, Stephen, of Virginia, Laurie McCabe and her husband, Dennis, of California, and Betsy Clemens and her friend, Jason Hickey, of New Vineyard; beloved granddaughter, Nicole Sillik of Wilton; a brother, William Sanborn of California; and many nieces, nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by a daughter and son, LaDonna and Elijah White III; her husband, Vernal “Spike” Clemens; a sister, Jean Johnson and her husband, Carl and their son, Bruce.
