SALEM — Tied 16-16 at the half, Mt. Abram used a strong second half to eventually pull away for a 39-38 triumph over St. Dom’s in girls’ MVC basketball.

St. Dom’s doubled up the Roadrunners with an 8-4 first quarter. Mt. Abram tied the score with a 12-8 frame before pulling away in the second half. Mt. Abram’s Miranda Smith led all scores with 11 points followed by Mykayla Luce’s 10 points, including a pair from behind the arc. Tori Beane chipped in with seven points in the win.

Mackenzie Roy led the Saints (7-11) with eight points, followed by Mary Caron’s six.

Winslow 41, Oak Hill 30

WALES — After sprinting out to a nine-point advantage in the first quarter, Winslow hung on to post a 41-30 victory over Oak Hill in a KVAC girls’ basketball regular season finale Thursday.

Elizabeth Ferry led the Black Raiders with 13 points, while Jordqan Pomerleau chipped in with nine.

The Raiders (4-14) were paced by Darby Beaulieu with eight points, while Megan Crosby added six.

Hall-Dale 50, Monmouth 44

MONMOUTH — Carylanne Wolfington poured in a game high 23 points including a trio of three’s, to help lead Hall-Dale to a 50-44 victory over Monmouth in girls’ MVC basketball.

Monmouth (8-10) took the early lead racing out to a 19-13 advantage after one quarter. Hall-Dale crawled back for a 25-23 edge at the half. The second half was back and forth before the Bulldogs (15-3) finally pulled away for the victory. Kristina Buck contributed with 11 points for the visiting team.

Colby Wilson and Kyle Kemp were a dual threat for the Mustangs each dumping in 10 points while grabbing a half dozen rebounds apiece. Kristine Kahl also chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds in the loss.

Spruce Mountain 61, Dirigo 27

JAY — Thirteen different players hit the scoring column as Spruce Mountain capped off an outstanding regular season by racing away from Dirigo for a 61-27 victory in girls’ MVC basketball.

The Phoenix (17-1) slowly moved out to a 27-13 halftime lead before exploding in the second half for the 34 point victory. The home team was lead by Kathyrn Ventrella as she scored 16 points. The senior also had six steals and five assists in the win. Emily Keene followed with 10 points and five rebounds.

Kayla Gaudin led the Cougars (8-10) with nine points while Miranda Shurtleff added eight.

Lisbon 48, Carrabec 44

NORTH ANSON — Lisbon raced out to a 13-2 first quarter lead and held off a charging Carrabec team to edge the Cobra’s 48-44 in girls’ MVC basketball action.

Lisbon built on it’s first half lead in the second quarter and took a 33-19 lead into the locker room. Carrabec came out strong in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Greyhounds 15-7 but fell short. Jessica Campbell led all scorers with 19 points The senior also grabbed seven rebounds and had four steals.

Bailey Madore chipped in with 10 points and also had four steals for Lisbon (7-11).

Emma Pluntke paced Carrabec (4-14) with 16 points.

Madison 55, Winthrop 22

WINTHROP — Sam Bruce netted a game high 19 points as 10 different players registered in the scoring column to lead Madison to a 55-22 victory over Winthrop in girls’ basketball.

Madison took the early lead and never looked back. The Bulldogs (15-3) led 10-3 and 28-6 after each of the first two periods.

Shauna Carlson led the Rmablers (0-18) with six points followed by Cat Ouellette’s and Alyssa Arsenault’s four points apiece in the loss.

Mt. Blue 64, Oxf. Hills 56, OT

FARMINGTON — Amy Hilton and Miranda Nicely scored 17 points apiece to lead Mt. Blue to a 64-56 overtime victory over Oxford Hills in their KVAC regular-season finale.

The Cougars (12-6) outscored the Vikings 13-5 in the extra period.

The game was tight throughout with quarter scores of 13-13, Mt. Blue ahead 29-27, 41-41 and 51-51.

Alex Rowe led Oxford Hills (8-10) with 17 points and Abbie Eastman added 16 points.

Mt. Blue 48, Oxford Hills 38

PARIS — Mt. Blue erupted for 21 points in the second quarter and raced away to post a 48-38 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC boys’ matchup.

Nick Hilton led the Cougars (14-4) with 14 points, while Blake Hart tallied 12 and Eric Berry added 11.

The Vikings (5-13) were paced by Alex Ferguson with a solid 10-point effort, while Josh MacDonald tallied eight and John Frechette added seven.
