NORWAY — The Police Department lost two full-time police officers in recent weeks.

Cpl. Holli Pullen, who was with the department since 2006, took a job with the Mexico Police Department.

Town Manager David Holt said Pullen resigned last week.

Officer Stephen Witham, who was appointed in early December to replace a retiring officer, is also out of the department after not passing the probationary period.

“We put our officers through a long series of investigation before we offer them absolute, final hiring,” Holt said. Witham was working through the process. “We didn’t choose to retain him,” Holt said.

“That should not reflect badly on him,” Holt said. “To get that far, he certainly has some good qualities.”

He said hiring new officers to replace Pullen and Witham will be a long process. “We have to do a series of evaluations,” he said.
