BRIDGTON — Loon Echo Land Trust and Lakes Environmental Association will host an easy-moderate snowshoe hike through scenic Pondicherry Park on Saturday, Feb. 18, beginning at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

On the 90-minute hike, enjoy the quiet beauty found in the 66-acre park in the heart of Bridgton. The park is a winter wonderland this time of year, and hikers may marvel at the ice encrusted brooks and snow-covered pines and hemlocks lining the trails. The group will search for animal sign and identify tracks seen along the way.

Hikers should wear appropriate winter clothing, bring snacks, water and snowshoes; a few pairs will be available upon request. Meet Loon Echo staff at the Bob Dunning Memorial Bridge kiosk adjacent to the Depot Street parking lot behind the Magic Lantern Theater at 8:45 a.m.

All Loon Echo hikes are free; however, donations are always welcome and qualify for a one-year membership. Find out more about Loon Echo by visiting www.loonecholandtrust.org.
