TOGUS — Sidney A. Hall Sr., 77, of Norway died Monday, Feb. 13, in hospice care at the VA Maine Healthcare Center.

He was born in Norway, March 2, 1934, the son of Clayton S. and Ruth Kenney Hall. He attended the Hackett Mills school to sixth-grade, then Mechanic Falls schools, graduating from Mechanic Falls High School in 1954.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He owned and operated a cleaning business, worked at the Advertiser Democrat, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery and the transfer station in Mechanic Falls. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, stamp and coin collecting. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Stuchbury and her husband, Ray, of Windham; his son, Sidney A. Hall II of Newburgh, Ind.; their mother, Betty Allen of Gray; grandchildren, Anne Stuchbury and Colette Hall; a brother, Harold (Hal) and his wife, Carol, of Albion; three nephews, Mark Hall and his wife, Theresa, Scott Hall and his wife, Jo-Ann and Brent Hall and his wife, Kim; and great-nieces and nephews, Ethan, Chelsea, Evan and Abigail.
