Boiled dinner

FARMINGTON — A New England boiled dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. The menu includes vegetables, Irish soda, bread and homemade pies. The cost is $7 per person. All are welcome.

Pistol course

WILTON — A two-day basic pistol course will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 4, at Wilton Fish & Game Club House, Route 2. Preregister with Everett at 779-0721.

Vets advocate

FARMINGTON — For the benefit of the Farmington area veterans, their dependents and survivors, the Veterans’ Advocate is at the Municipal Building in Farmington the first Tuesday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon. The next session will be March 6.

RANGELEY — The next ladies/community breakfast with everyone invited to attend will be from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at BMC Diner on Richardson Street.

Scholarships

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is again offering scholarships for college level courses to eligible Franklin County residents. Two $1,000 scholarships are available to 2011 high school graduates as well as anyone going back to school for a new career, new skills training or continuing past freshman year. To receive the scholarship, the student must be registered as a full time student.

Funded by the Chamber/Seth Wescott fall Scholarship Golf Classic event held at Sugarloaf, these scholarships, in addition to tuition fees, may be used for on-campus housing and online courses offered by educational institutions if part of a degree program.

Applications are available on the Chamber’s website, www.franklincountymaine.org (in the ‘Chamber Information’ section, under the ‘Chamber Programs’ link), and are due into the Chamber no later than Friday, April 13. An application maybe also be requested by emailing stephanie@franklincountymaine.org.
