JAY — A sliding party for service members and their extended families will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Spruce Mountain Ski Area.

VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Post 3335 members, along with other veterans organizations and businesses, are organizing the event.

Service members and families would have to wear warm clothing and bring sleds, if they have them. Spruce Mountain Ski Club has donated the use of the slope for sliding.

Organizers are still looking for donations of food, including hamburgers, hot dogs and buns, and paper goods, including napkins, cups and towels. They also could use some assorted sweets, juice, tea, hot cocoa and milk.
