LEWISTON — “Sleep Apnea and Heart Disease” will be the topic of discussion at the March 8 meeting of Mended Hearts at the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute in Lewiston. The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 8, in Young Wing First-Floor Conference Room, located near the main entrance to Central Maine Medical Center. There is no charge for participation.

Diana L. Wilson, M.D., medical director of the Central Maine Sleep Center, will talk about the connection between chronic sleep apnea and cardiac disease.

Wilson is a fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. She is certified in pulmonary disease and critical care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is also certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine.

Mended Hearts, a patient-run support group, is a national nonprofit organization that supports heart disease patients and their families through a visiting program and monthly meetings.
