SOUTH PARIS — Marjorie L. (Martin) Stone, 82, of South Paris, peacefully departed this life on Feb. 28, with her loving family and her devoted husband of 42 years, David Stearns Stone, at her bedside.

Marjorie was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Mexico. She graduated from Mexico High School and completed her education in Boston, Mass. Marjorie worked at Stephens Memorial Hospital for the majority of her career as a laboratory technologist. She retired from Stephens after 28 years and became actively involved in her local AARP chapter.

She volunteered at Responsible Pet Care in Norway and would never turn away a cat or a dog that any of her children would drop at her door. In her earlier years, Margie enjoyed hosting parties by her pool and taking family trips to PEI and the ocean. Most recently, she loved her bingo nights with her dear friends, Ann Edwards, Pat Cleveland and Pat Pulkkinen and spending summer evenings on the front porch with her neighbors.

She is survived by her husband, David Stearns Stone of South Paris; her children, Laurie Lacer of Londonderry, N.H., Sharon Jacobs and her husband, Scott, of Granby, Conn., Douglas T. Stone of Lewiston, Karla Horecky of South Paris and David Stone and his wife, Melissa, of South Paris; her nine grandchildren, whom she adored with all of her heart; and many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Louise (McAfferty) Martin; her son, Levin Edward Barker; and her two brothers, Dr. Joseph Edward Martin and Frank T. Martin.
