INDUSTRY – Townspeople are looking at a proposed $595 increase in this year’s municipal budget over 2011, Town Clerk Angel Davis said Tuesday.

This does not include school or county taxes.

The annual town meeting will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the Town Hall. Elections will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day.

Selectman Robert Geisser is unopposed for another three-year term. RSU 9 Director Mark Prentiss is also uncontested for another three-year term, Davis said.

The proposed budget for 2012 is $385,338 compared to last year’s $385,743, she said.

Some money is being carried over from the winter roads account to this year’s budget due to a mild winter.

Residents have 39 articles to decide. The last one on the warrant asks if the town wants to enact a Wind Power Development Moratorium Ordinance. If approved, the town would have six months to develop a wind power siting ordinance to set guidelines where wind power turbines could be set up in town.
