JAY — A town plow truck was damaged after it slid off Hutchinson Road and struck some boulders during a March 1 snowstorm, police Sgt. Troy Young said Wednesday.

Town employee Mike Williams, 42, of Jay, the driver of the 10-wheel dump truck, with a plow and wing attached, was uninjured, Young said.

The truck was going downhill and was unable to make a turn in the road due to the snow and ice he was plowing, he said.

Hutchinson Road is off Canton Mountain Road, which is off Davenport Hill Road.

The truck went off the road, over an embankment and over some boulders, Young said.

There was undercarriage damage to the 2005 Mack truck, he said.
