NORWAY — WMCA Health Services is joining the Maine Center for Disease Control, an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health, in taking action against HIV/AIDS. On Thursday, March 15, WMCA Health Services will hold a free testing day in honor of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, where women and girls in the community will be able to get free Rapid HIV tests and free chlamydia and gonorrhea testing.

WMCA Health Services staff will offer free testing from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., closing for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and noon. The clinic is at 9 Marston St., right off Main Street behind Goin’ Postal. Educational materials and giveaways will be available for all who visit the clinic that day, as well as Hannaford and Visa gift cards, while supplies last. WMCA Health Services is a reproductive health and family planning clinic for men and women, teens and adults offering confidential services for over 40 years.

National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is a nationwide observance to raise awareness of the increasing impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls and encourage them to get tested. It is also aimed at empowering communities and organizations to take action in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
