OXFORD — Oxford Hills School District administrators are holding meetings in district towns this month to share their educational vision and preliminary budget information.

“The stakeholder meetings are a combo of our continuing vision initiative and a preliminary overview of state, federal and local revenues,” Superintendent Rick Colpitts said.

The meetings began this month and will continue Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Paris Elementary School for Paris and West Paris residents. On Thursday, a meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. at Waterford Memorial Elementary School for Waterford and Harrison residents.

On Tuesday, March 20, Hebron residents are invited to a meeting at 7 p.m. at the Hebron Station School.

Also this month, the Budget Committee is reviewing spending proposals for 2012-13. On March 14 it will look at preliminary numbers for art, music, physical education, special education and health services, transportation and guidance department.

On Wednesday, March 21, the committee will meet with officials from the eight SAD 17 towns.

The school board will review the budget proposal on April 2, Colpitts said.

Before the board approves the budget, school officials will present it to voters in the district towns as follows:

* April 4, 7 p.m. — Oxford and Otisfield residents at the Oxford Elementary School.

* April 5, 7 p.m. — Norway and Paris residents at the Paris Elementary School.

* April 11, 7 p.m. — West Paris and Hebron residents at the Hebron Elementary School.

* April 12, 7 p.m. — Waterford and Harrison residents at the Harrison Elementary School.

On May 7, the budget will be presented to the school board for approval, and on June 7 it goes to a districtwide hearing at 7 p.m. at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The budget validation referendum in all eight towns is set for June 12.
