WILTON — A Lyman driver was involved in two separate accidents Friday afternoon on Route 2 and 4.

Police were called to the first accident at about 2 p.m. Friday  near the Big Apple, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.

Melissa Letellier, 51, was driving a 1998 Jeep west and Shane Haley, 40, of Dixfield was also driving his 1997 Dodge pickup west. Both were attempting a turn into the convenience store, one from the breakdown lane and one from the travel lane, when they collided.

No one was injured and there wasn’t a lot of damage, Wilcox said.

Letellier wanted to drive her vehicle from the scene and continued driving west up Burgess Hill about a mile or so beyond the Big Apple.

She attempted to stop at a stop sign at the top of the hill but couldn’t. She slid into a Central Maine Power truck driven by Keith Bryant, 51, of Winthrop, who was traveling east in a 2005 GMC.

No one was hurt and the trucked had minor damage. Letellier’s Jeep was pretty much totaled then, Wilcox said.

Wilton Fire Department helped with traffic control.
