AUBURN — Olive Jenice (Malier) Tripp, 75, of Lewiston, died March 13, at the Hospice House, after a long illness.

She was born Dec. 1, 1936, the daughter of the late John and Grace Malier. She grew up in Casco and was educated in public schools. She married Wheeler D. Tripp, with whom she spent many wonderful years, until his passing.

She provided a good home for her family. She babysat many of her grandchildren. She enjoyed family get-togethers and spending holidays cooking and buying gifts for her family. She was especially famous for her molasses cookies. She loved playing cards and Pokeno with family and friends and shopping trips with her daughters. Later in life, she enjoyed trying new restaurants with her friend, John.

Survivors include two brothers, Patrick and Theodore Malier; five sisters, Dorothy Rolfe, Sylvia Swanson, Josephine Malier, Barbara Malier Gurney and Pamela Komulainen; seven children, Gary Tripp and his wife, Betty, Colby Tripp and his wife, Darlene, Dale Tripp, Joyce Richardson and her husband, Eddie, Janet St. Pierre and her husband, Louis, Linda Dulac and her husband, Ronnie and Valerie Tripp and her partner, George Butterfield; and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and her brother, John Malier.

We would like to thank the family members who helped at the end of her life and the Hospice House, who provided quality care and comfort to her until the end.
