Challenge canceled

LISBON — The Lisbon Boosters Chili Chowder and Chocolate Challenge, scheduled for Saturday, March 17, at Lisbon High School, has been cancelled.

Breakfast speaker

LEWISTON — WorkMed, a department of St. Mary’s Health System, will hold an educational breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, when Adela Cifelli of Safety Works will discuss the importance of having a safety committee in the workplace and how to establish a committee at a business.

Worry workshop

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free workshop for anyone interested in reducing worry. “Letting Go of the Worry Bug” will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 2o, at CMMC, 12 High Street, Conference Room H.

Marcy Covey will teach techniques to substitute for worry and improve the quality of life.

Energy, healing

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will hold a free workshop, “Energy and Healing,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, at CMMC, 12 High Street, Conference Room C.

Treatments, including Qigong, reiki, polarity therapy, acupuncture and yoga, will be discussed by a panel of holistic health practitioners, Jim Melloh, MD, Tish Caldwell, RN, and Meredith Kendall, RN.

SS workshop

AUBURN — A Social Security Workshop will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

Instruction will be given by the staff of the Social Security Administration on how to access benefits and information on the SS web site. The representatives will help file claims.
