FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a GPS training session from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 7, at the USDA Service Center on Park Street.

The class will teach people how to use a Global Positioning System, expand their GPS skills and avoid mistakes.

Anyone who has ever wondered if a GPS will work on a cloudy day, if it will really work when going around a lake or if the GPS will find the vehicle after a long day in the woods will get answers. There will be information for anyone who would like to assist with search and rescue missions or become involved in the geocash scavenger hunts.

Each class is limited to 25 people as the district has 25 units available through the Maine Forest Service. The cost is $18 for all who register before Friday, March 30, and $20 thereafter.

To register, send a check or visit the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District, 107 Park St. Registration forms are also available on the FCSWCD website, www.franklincswcd.org/index10.html. For more details, call 778-4279.
