AUGUSTA – The Maine Warden Service swore in four new game wardens in January.

from New Gloucester, Sarah Miller from Newry, Clifford Littlefield from Morrill and Troy Thibodeau from Augusta successfully completed an intensive hiring process as well as the 18-week basic law enforcement training program at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro. The program includes police cadets from all law enforcement agencies in Maine and it is here where they first become certified as police officers.

All four new wardens then had to attend the Advanced Warden Academy, also held at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, for an additional 12 weeks, to learn special skills such as search and rescue, tracking, surveillance, recreational vehicle enforcement and crash investigation, fish and wildlife laws and patrol techniques, public relations and more.
