AUBURN — In celebration of National Poetry Month, Central Maine Community College will host two poetry slams on Friday, March 30.

A workshop will be held at 3 p.m. in Kirk Hall Auditorium for anyone interested in learning about slam poetry. The slam will start at 6:30 p.m. and continue until all participants have been heard.

Nathan Amadon and a group of seasoned slammers from Port Veritas in Portland will perform some of their favorite poems and then open the stage to anybody wanting to share their own work.

Both events are free and the public is encouraged to attend, either to  participate or listen. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Judi Moreno at [email protected] or 755-5265.
