BETHEL — The Cordis Quartet, a chamber group known for fusing custom-made and traditional ethnic instruments, will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Gould Academy.

The concert, presented by the Mahoosuc Arts Council, will close out the 2011-2012 Gould Performing Arts Series. The group will also play for students at Telstar Middle and High schools on April 4. Area homeschoolers are welcome to attend.

Making up the quartet are Jeremy Harman on cello; Richard Grimes, concert cimbalom; Brian O’Neill, piano; and Andrew Beall, percussion. They also play one-of-a-kind creations such as the electric mbira, melodica and the world’s longest playing cylinder-driven music box. The groups is also known to integrate projections, lights and other multimedia elements into its performances.

The April 3 concert will be at Bingham Auditorium, Gould Academy, 45 Church St. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 65+ and $5 for children under 12. School performances are free for all students. For more information, call 824-3575 or visit www.mahoosucarts.org.
