Well, he has done it again. If Gov. Paul LePage doesn’t get his way, he and the Maine Heritage Policy Center go after a department or person that gets in the way.

Maine’s speaker of the House cheated the taxpayers of millions; LePage’s appointed head of the Department of Health and Human Services failed to report computer problems that cost taxpayers millions of dollars; the state treasurer has feathered his nest at the cost of the little town of Georgetown; and now Dale McCormick has been run out of office.

McCormick is a wonderful woman who has done so much good at the Maine Housing Authority in her seven-year tenure, and has been hounded into resigning.

Well, the MHPC will likely have someone from its ranks available right away.

Oh, yes, has anyone wondered where the MHPC gets its money? Ask, and one gets the answer, “We don’t have to disclose that information.” And its officers have the nerve to stand before the TV cameras and talk about transparency?

Having been a citizen of this state my entire 78 years, I am ashamed of what it is becoming. What is it teaching our children about the workings of government?

I think any honest and straight-thinking person will think twice about getting involved.

I send best wishes to McCormick. I know there are people and places who will appreciate her caring, honest work.
