FARMINGTON — Inside the Town Office at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, is the place to be for an educational program about raptors.
The presentation with live birds by “Wind Over Wings,” a nonprofit raptor education service, is hosted by the Maine Forest Service and the Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter of the Small Woodland Owner’s Association of Maine.
It features Zachariah the raven, Skywalker the golden eagle, Pippin the saw-whet owl and a red-tailed hawk.
“Come learn about these birds, bird habitats in the woodlands, and their interesting stories,” Patty Cormier, district forester of Norridgewock, said recently.
“Experience being a few feet away from a bird of prey. Founder Hope Douglas and volunteer Carol Facker are so interesting to listen to,” Cormier said. “This is a great event for the kids, too.”
The event is free and open to all so there is no need to pre-register. The town office is at 153 Farmington Falls Road, also known as Route 2.
For more information, contact Cormier at 592-2238 or [email protected].
