HEBRON — Hebron Academy Athletic Director Leslie Guenther is pleased to announce that members of the varsity boys’ basketball team, Xavier Bernard and Shaquille Cezont-Holmes, have earned Class C All-New England honors.

Bernard, a postgraduate from St. Albans, N.Y., was selected to the Class C All-New England Second Team, while junior Cezont-Holmes of Quebec, Canada, was awarded Honorable Mention.

Bernard, a forward, anchored Hebron’s offensive effort, leading the team in scoring and steals with five per game. Hhe averaged 18 points per game and 4 rebounds. Cezont-Holmes, a guard, averaged 15 points per game and put forth his best efforts against Hyde School, scoring 37 points, and against Kents Hill, posting 32.

Head Coach Bill Flynn said of his talented players, “This was a groundbreaking season for us. The efforts of Shaq and Xavier really set the tone for our team and brought Hebron basketball to a whole new level. The Academy is incredibly proud of this burgeoning program and our boys.”

Hebron was runner-up in the 2012 New England Class C championship against Hyde School (Conn.) and made school history with its NEPSAC playoff run, upsetting Pingree School (Mass.) and Providence (R.I.) Country Day School to reach the finals.
