SugarWood Gallery will feature works by Colleen Park of Wilton, a self-taught artist who enjoys working in different mediums and styles, throughout April. “This past year,” Park said, “I have been working on a series of palette-knife landscape paintings of our beautiful Maine. I love to paint the farmlands and mountains around the Farmington area, as well as the rugged beauty of our coastline. It’s a lot like sculpting a scene, she said. “I love the feel and the Impressionistic look of the work.” Park has also been working on a small series of abstract watercolor paintings on yupo paper. The gallery at 248 Broadway in Farmington will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 6; and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7. Above, Park poses with a piece of hers titled “Painting for Grandchild.”
