NORWAY — Stone-Smart Post, American Legion Auxiliary 82, met recently with President Thelma Denlinger presiding.

Donations were made to Chapel of Four Chaplains, Bangor Troop Greeters, SeniorsPlus Meals on Wheels, Community Lunch and funds to help send a military child to camp at Bryant Pond.

The charter was draped in memory of Christine Weiss. Funds will be donated to the post’s memorial park for flowers in her memory.

The following officers were named for the coming year: president, Thelma Denlinger; first vice, Kathy Neary; second vice, Marjy Sessions; secretary, Joyce Clifford; treasurer, Rose Moulton; chaplain Marcie Dullea; historian, Carmie Rideout; sergeant-at-arms, Theresa Dodge; Executive Committee, Eleanor Durant, Beulah Ayer and Tammy Hill.

Department of Maine American Legion Auxiliary Chairman Jeri Greenwell, Children and Youth Program, is asking people to wear purple on Friday, April 13, to honor military children of parents serving the country.

Greenwell has asked units or individuals to bring backpacks for homeless children to the Rumford meeting on Tuesday, April 17. Items such as pencils, crayons, toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap and shampoo will also be collected.
