In Maine there are more than 4,000 school-aged military youth and children whose parents have been called to serve. Deployments are a reality and many youth/families in Maine are currently in the deployment cycle (preparing to deploy, are currently deployed or preparing to be reunited with families).
Operation Military Kids state and national partners want to recognize, celebrate and thank all Military youth, families and service men and women for their commitment and service to our country. In 2011, more than 103,000 youth participated in experiences conducted by State OMK Teams in 49 states and the District of Columbia.
