Courtney Naliboff

VIENNA — Dr. Jay and Jane Naliboff of Vienna are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Courtney Harrison Naliboff of North Haven, to William Thomas Trevaskis III of North Haven, son of William and Sylvia Trevaskis Jr. of San Marcos, Calif.

Miss Naliboff graduated from Mt. Blue High School, class of 1998, and Brown University, class of 2002, where she majored in music (theory and composition) and theater. She received a master’s degree in print journalism with a focus in political journalism from Boston University. Currently, she is the music, drama and English teacher at North Haven Community School on North Haven Island. She is the secretary of the planning board, owner of Little Urchin Bakery since 2007, gives lessons on various instruments and voice and puts on three or four theatrical productions each year for the school and community. She is also the singer/songwriter of Almanac (www.courtneynaliboff.com), her first solo album, which reflects each month of island life.

Mr. Trevaskis graduated from San Marcos High School, San Marcos, Calif., class of 1999. He went on to graduate summa cum laude in 2004 from Berkelee School of Music, where he majored in composition and music theory. He is currently the programs director at Waterman’s Community Center/North Haven Arts and Enrichment, a non-profit organization on North Haven Island in Penobscot Bay. He is the chairman of the board of selectmen and gives private lessons on guitar and bass. He often composes and performs music for plays, conducts pit orchestras and does sound design.
