LEWISTON — Armand L. Obie, 68, of Turner, died April 4, at Central Maine Medical Center, with loved ones by his side.

He was born April 10, 1943, in Auburn, to Arthur and Ann Marie Letourneau Obie. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1961.

He retired from Pioneer Plastics in 1984 and he also retired from L.L. Bean in 2005. He recently worked part time for City Cab.

He enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, and hockey. Most of all, he cherished the love of his family. Armand will be fondly remembered for his quick witted and truthful responses.

He is survived by his wife, Lana Durgin Obie; and five children, Danny and his wife, Rene, of St. Clair, Mo., Donald and Joline of Monmouth, Dennis and his wife, Patty, of Avon, Conn., Jason and his wife, Lucinda, of Monmouth, and Kelly and her husband, Peter, of Turner; two sisters, Janet Hossler and husband, Steve, of Alabama and Terry Girouard of Lewiston, and a brother, Arthur Obie Jr. and wife, Jeannine, of Lewiston. “Pepere” is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Brandon and Cameron Angell, Casey Kutrip, Courtney Williams, Dakota Goodwin, Dominick, Leanna, and Isabella Obie, Katrina St. Claire, Elizabeth Obie, Sam and Sarah Obie, and Anderson, Campbell and Delaney Houston; and five great-grandchildren.
