NORWAY — Stone Smart Post 82 of the American Legion held its monthly meeting on March 14. The meeting had several significant activities. Commander Ron Snow presented to Bryant Gurney a certificate of continual membership for 50 years.
Snow presented to Steve Tobin a Two-Star Blue Banner representing that Tobin has two children serving in the Armed Forces. His son is serving in the Marine Corps., and is currently serving his second tour in Afghanistan, and his daughter is serving in the Air Force.
The American Legion turned 93 during March and Snow along with Thelma Dinglinger, president of the Auxiliary, cut the birthday cake.
Stone Smart Post 82 meets the second Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. for a meal followed by the meeting at 7. Any veterans interested in joining the Legion are invited to the next meeting on Wednesday, April 11.
